This is the start of day 3 of having a new little bitty cat in the house. Seriously, she's TINY, she can't be more than 3 months old. I haven't gotten any pics of her yet, she's being all shy and scared (and with what the poor baby has been thru, I don't blame her!) and I expect it'll probably take another week or two before she starts relaxing and getting over it.
Kitteh Van Gogh, the cat I already had, is taking the newcomer totally in stride, and far far better than I ever would have expected. There has been much sniffing of noses, and very few hisses from either side. I think the little one has been doing most of that, and when she does Kitteh just backs off a couple of feet and sits down and watches her.
Little bit is, for all intents and purposes, feral. She's young enough that I'm pretty sure she'll learn to socialize with we big, clumsy human types in the house as well as the dogs. (The dogs have each met numerous cats, they're not the least bit fazed by a new bit of fluff.)
Ok, yep, Kitteh has adopted the little bit. He's succeeded in talking her into going over the gate and is escorting her in her initial explorations of the rest of the house. He spent most of yesterday going back and forth over the gate and trilling at the little bit, saying 'come on, see, it's easy!' in cat.
What? Pics? I have a really good one of Kitteh that I took just a few minutes ago. I managed to get a few (not so great) shots of Kitteh and little bit just outside the cat room. Enjoy.
