  • once again into the breach

Well, I am sitting here right now on the world's slowest wifi (make that the second slowest, Reno airport's is slower) waiting for my plane to Reno for a job interview next week. So y'alls know the drill, prayers, good thoughts, bribes to my future employer, or virgin sacrifices for getting the position

Won't we all be so happy when I don't have to post these anymore

Good luck smiley! Will be praying that you get a totally cool job, and that it turns out to have awesome benefits, decent money, and a work environment that lowers your stress levels.

I'd happily offer up a virgin sacrifice, but here in Key West, we have a definite shortage on virgins. Just saying.

        ....Would a virgin margarita suffice?

A virgin margarita? As in a margarita without any booze? SACRILEGE!

          (Not to mention amazingly non-tasty.)

I'm not sure you can get that in Key West, either.

            Good luck Smiley!

You can, but why would you WANT to? Here or anywhere else, for that matter!

No, I don't think you understand what I'm saying. It's not about drinking or not drinking, it's about the fact that a virgin margarita is basically straight sour mix. NOT something that sounds tasty, whatever your inclinations or abilities with alcohol may be.

Yes, I've had them ordered. Yes, I've made them. And yes, I've cringed every time.

Ot: I practically lived on virgin margaritas as a minor! I usually did half sour mix/half 7-Up (or whatever equivalent the restaurant was serving) but I still could easily just drink sour mix straight. YUM! Although..I must admit I now do prefer my sour mix to have (GOOD..no Cuervo) tequila in it.

Back to the topic.....GOOD LUCK SMILEY!!!!!

Good luck! Oh, and if what I saw last night is correct, there is NO construction on the highway.

I avoid the new bypass and take the surface roads still because everyone seems to take the new road. I was just happy to drive in on I80 and not hit any. I think it was the first time in the year we've lived down here that it was straight open to get to Cabela's area.

I actually love the new bypass, Reno to Carson in under 20 minutes... dear God, I used to make that commute twice a week (worked two jobs, one part time in Reno, one part time in Carson) and it was 45 minutes. I was referring to between Neil and Plumb (I know, I'm losing my native Nevadan cred by referring to it is I580 instead of 395).
Though, on the bright side, not only is the interview close to downtown (not a good commute from mom's house, but in the neighborhood I'd like to live eventually) but it's close to Port of Subs (my favorite sandwiches )

I have yet to try them. There is one in town here but it is always nasty inside. Hubby loves TOGOs though. We've taken the new bypass (it is nice) but the last few times there were too many idiots on it trying to race. We didn't go near where that construction is so I didn't know about it. I was used to Alaska construction that only lasts a few months until the ground refreezes so this year round stuff threw me off.
