Take it from someone who inadvertantly (at first) and then later off-hand, didn't eat except for dinner and afterwards. At first it's great. You're only a little hungry. You lose a LITTLE weight.
But then after a while you start getting hungry every two hours, feeling you'll faint if you don't eat, etc. All of the suggestions above are good -- you really don't want to get in the shape that I did, because aside from all that I had GI issues that like to strike at random.
Bagels with food are a great idea. Start small, with things like Ramen and bagels (easy stuff), and work your way up.
