I like the stuff. I really do. It makes me relax. Now I'm curious as to how many sticks does it take to really get a room smoky. I know its overload, but I seem to find the cloud soothing for some reason, and one stick just has a tiny amount of smoke.

Depends on the size of the room and ventilation. When you set off the smoke alarm, it's too much.
FWIW, consider shopping for incense in a Chinatown or (Asian) Indian neighborhood market--better deals there.I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

Mmmmmm, incense....I love the stuff, too! We use it at my church, and I just love seeing the clouds of it rising through the air.
I like using the little incense cones--leaves the ashes all in one heap, instead of spread out along a line, like the sticks.
Note: don't use an incense cone directly on any meltable surface...found that out when I perched one on the edge of my tub, lit it, and forgot about it...until a shower of sparks alerted me to the fact that the fire had burned down and fused the cone to the tub... Had to actually sand the dadgum tub down to get rid of the burn and melt marks."Eventually, everything that you have said becomes everything you will ever say." Eireann

Hmmm I dunno try 3 I guess....that isn't too much for you? One stick is enough to make me choke if there isn't enough ventilation.https://www.youtube.com/user/HedgeTV
