Hi. I've been an avid reader of the strip, a periodic lurker on the forums, and just generally amused and/or horrified by the site, and I finally decided to join. I've actually only been on the customer side of things... so far... but I can't believe what some of the customers here pull and how they try to act. I always try to be polite and courteous... and even barring common decency as a motivator -- since these customers obviously lack that -- that gets me much better results. I can usually get the Gamestop I usually go to to bend the rules in my favor just by asking, because I have such a good reputation there... and I've also gotten cashiers at various stores to cover the last few cents of my purchase if I'm short by simply politely saying I'll just put something back or go back to the house and get some more money. Being nice works. Not all the time, but a lot more often than acting like a brat... or worse.
