  • Longtime Fan Says, "Hi!"

    Hi, old and new peeps!

I've been lurking here for so long that such names as Seraph, LillFilly, Peppergirl, I.P. Freleigh (I see what yu did thar wif yur handle), and of course, Rapscallion almost read like the names of old friends.

Yes, I have dealt with SCs, although unlike many of you, never face-to-face. My customer dealings have been primarily via e-mail, but also by phone. Even over telecommunications media, however, it is possible to experience a wide spectrum of Teh Suck. Entitlement, arrogance, failure to read directions, blame-shifting, empty threats of legal action - I've seen it. In fact, I found this site when I recalled something a former co-worker would often say:

    "Aw, maaan, these customers SUCK!"

I have also had my share of the good ones: friendly customers, patient customers, customers with a genuine sense of humour, and even a few who put in a good word for me (one such occasion resulted in my receiving a company gift certificate ).

Anyway, it's good to be here, and Mods, I hope I haven't inadvertently said anything that's Not Cricket

Do I read more like an old friend, or more like someone you cross yourself over when you walk past them?

        Yes

EVE Online: 99% of the time you sit around waiting for something to happen, but that 1% of action is what hooks people like crack, you don't get interviewed by the BBC for a WoW raid.

Damn! AccountingDrone beat me to the answer I was going to give! Let's just say that I would like us to be friends because the alternative ...

Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! I did bring a little travel container of brain bleach, but it's good to know there is communal bb available.

btw, does anyone else subconsciously imagine Irving Patrick Freleigh to look like Al Bundy?

Heh, I may not be that far off.

I'm told I'm sarcastic like he is. I have no idea why anybody would get that impression.

I've always kinda imagined the Janitor from Scrubs. Sorry, Irv.
