This was for a Local Number Port request, which is basically when a customer transfers their phone number from one provider to another provider.
Me: Ok sir, if you're not sure what your account number should be your best bet is to contact their customer service and see if they can help you to look it up.
C: But, how would they know what <other company's> account numbers are?
Me: (lightbulb) Not our customer service sir, <other company's> customer service.
C: (lightbulb) Oh... ok, I'll call back then when I have it?
