Yesterday I went to out to lunch. Enjoyed yummy salad goodness and, as always at this restaurant, excellent service. Paid with my debit card, which was run as credit. Put the tip on my card. Signed the ticket, stuck my copy of ticket in my book to mark my place, and scurried back to work.
Then last night I found I had the merchant's copy in my book! I took the wrong copy. I'm sure this was no big problem, but it means I stiffed my poor server.
Don't worry, I fixed it. Went back again today (Oh boy, an excuse to eat out twice in a row). Explained to yesterday's server and gave him his overdue tip in cash.
