Today is the first day of summer school, There was limited first come first serve parking for anyone not on the event list (24 non-reserved spots). The software that changes the open sign to full is not working. There are public transportation vehicles dropping off handicapped students/visitors inside Visitor Parking since the drop off area is inside the garage. So when I left for a bathroom break, I had to leave the gates up. I did a space count before coming back to the booth since the open sign is on, & we were short spots for the events.
customer: "Hi, I'm a visitor & I need to park."
me: "I'm so sorry, I know you need to park. Unfortunately the garage is reserved & we are short the number of spots needed for the events, & so I do not have any spots for anyone else to park in."
customer: "So where do I park?"
I give her several options.
customer: "So visitors cannot park in Visitor Parking?"
me: "I'm sorry, but we are short the number of spots for the events, & whenever the garage is reserved, I can only go by what is on the event list."
customer: "Oh...ok"
She backs up & leaves.
customer: "Hi, I'm a visitor & I need to park."
