I have to out myself here guys. Had a brain burp of my own the other day.
I was shopping in a local clothing store for a couple of shirts. I found 2 and proceeded to the cashier. Now one shirt was $29.99 and the other was on a clearance rack marked down from $19.99 to $15.
The woman rings up my sale and she tells me the total = $39
My brain, for reason known only to itself, only registers the 9 at the end of the total and knowing it should have ended in a 5 (according to the price tags)
Me: “Oh? That one is marked down to $15”
Sales woman: “Actually, it scans at $9, but I can charge you $15 if you want”
Me: *D’oh!* “Um, no that’s fine.
*wishes a hole would open and swallow me for my ineptness at basic math*
At least she laughed with me about it. But I was so embarrassed.
