Me: Well we have a linguistics section and foreign language section.
Guy: Yes.
Me: ...sorry?
Guy: Where's that?
Me: Which one?
Guy: *BLANK STARE*
Me: ...the linguistic section? ...The foreign language section?
Guy: Yes.
Me: ...which one?
Guy: Just -- where's the foreign languages??

It was like a major accomplishment for him to use more than two words at the same time
