I just had a guy come in with his smartphone (Motorola Milestone X), toss it at me, and say, "It won't come on. Something's wrong with it." So, I took the battery out, inspected it, no water damage or anything. I plugged it into the charger I have next to me to test it, and it came up as 0% full.
I told him, "It looks like the battery is just dead." He said, "Well I charged it up yesterday before I went to Michigan."
Sometimes this job just makes me want to smack people.
