I'm wondering at this point if they aren't deliberately prolonging it to try to force you to quit. IANAL, but I think there's less paperwork involved when you quit as opposed to when they fire you.

You may be right, but all of the necessary hoops have been jumped through, as my boss is awesome and in on the plan. It was the passing off to the new HR person that caused the delay.
The meeting at which I realized I would eventually be fired took place in JULY. I don't know how much longer I can hold on here. If I'm not able to collect unemployment after this, I'll curl up in a ball and cry."Redheads have at least a 95% chance of being gorgeous. They're also concentrated evil." - Irv

I know how you feel. I was "let go" aka fired from my first job. But I had no idea, although I had told friends and family I would be so happy if that happened. I had been doing two full time jobs for a year, after being told that after my main boss left to "work from home" I'd be "helping" another dept. This was in the early 90's, when telecommuting was not that widespread, and I really think the powers that be thought that because my boss wasn't IN the office, the workload was less, so I could help others.
HA. not the case at all. I was initially upset, but later thrilled when it happened. I was so stressed out it wasn't funny. But I was also living at home, had minimal bills, and so I collected UE, and went back to school and changed careers. Best thing that ever happened to me.
