      There weren't quite as many freakouts as I thought. Night crew chief had a point to ponder: it might be beneficial for me to go down to 'minimal part time' (2 short shifts at most per week, I know 2 coworkers with other FT jobs have done that) to keep seniority, assorted PTO, and 401K contributions as long as I can. I wouldn't be eligible for a 401K at the new place until a year in, meaning I couldn't roll it over until then (and there may be more restrictions on the money). If I stick it out, I'll have more options...and the extra money wouldn't hurt.

      That may well be doable, as midshift at the new place would be 9-5 Monday-Friday. Ultimately it comes down to assorted scheduling and what I can actually do; moving to Sat/Sun only would mean I still get Sunday pay (and I'd be able to work on training someone else). I'll have to think about that.
