So why someone booked the room under a 4-year-old's name, I have no idea. It was a reservation for a hospital rate set up by someone other than the parents. The child is the patient.

My guess it's a hospital liaison who helps arrange accommodations for guests who either read the wrong field on a form (Patient instead of Parent or Guardian for example) or who didn't actually know the parent's names. Probably the former, given how much pressure the administrative staff is under at health care facilities. We had a few corporate accounts at my old hotel (close to several hospitals with outpatient programs) who had staff members who were allowed to book rooms for those being treated at their facilities. I can see this happening if one of them misread a form."I try to be curious about everything, even things that don't interest me." -Alex Trebek

Maybe it's something like St Judes and they are there ICO of the kid. So they know who they are paying the room for in the end?AkaiKitsune
Sarcasm dear, sarcasm. I’m well aware that dealing with civilians in any capacity will skin your faith in humanity alive, then pickle anything that remains so as to watch it shrivel up into an immortal husk thus reminding you of how dead inside you now are.

I'm not sure the reason for the mistake. It was more amusing than sucky. To right the countless wrongs of our days... We shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise...Oh, what a wonderful world such would be...

And here I thought from reading the title, it had something to do with a pair of 12 year olds trying to rent a hotel room for the night and chartering a plane to take them to New York City.
Of course that might have been easier to pull off in the late 70's than today.Human Resources - the adult version of "I'm telling Mom." - Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (NCIS)
