What's your employee discount?

Various things we get discount offered threw adp total source and a discount with what we call tri-rail its a commuter train not a high speed rail

For a long time there was no employee discount at my warehouse store except for a free membership so we could shop at the place we work. These days during the holidays we get 10% office fresh department items (meat, deli, bakery, and produce). We do get a yearly bonus which seems unlike my company but it appears the people in the regular retail stores get a quarterly bonus. This year they did away with the "use it or lose it" policy on unused personal time and decided to add it to our checks as a bonus. I guess this is an incentive to work and not take days off or vacations.

I get no discount from the client we take calls for. Originally, the parent company of my workplace was the same as the parent company for the client, so at that time we had some fees waived off purchases. Then parent company sold off my company so now (once again) I'm just part of an outsourced center.

At least my actual employer offers employee discounts from local businesses as well as from some of their other clients who offer discounts to all of us, because we do 100% of the e-commerce customer service for those particular clients.

The benefits and profit-sharing make up for it, though - even if I stay in my current position until I retire, I'll be set for life.

It's also there to assure that unpaid vacation (a debt) doesn't build up and look bad on the books.

30% off most everything and 40% between Thanksgiving and Christmas with the exception of a shark themed restaurant in the park

None, unfortunately, unless you count the benefit of having an extremely stable job with the Federal Government. It's worth it to me.

However, this reminds me of a funny story: A long time ago, back when the long distance carriers started to multiply and were everywhere, I was at a county fair, and signed up for X long distance company. About a week later, I was hired to work with Y long distance company, so of course, I changed. Duh. A couple of weeks later, I got a call from customer service of X company.

"We noticed that you left right after joining our company. Did we do something wrong?'"
"Oh no!", I said, 'I was unemployed at the time, and Y company gave me a job!"
Long pause. I could actually hear him flipping the pages of the book, the one that has answers to every possible scenario that might convince a customer to come back.
"I'm sorry", he said, "We can't do that."
And we ended the call with a good laugh.

Mine's a little different because I work at a bank. I get my checking and savings accounts with no monthly fee (which there normally isn't anyway unless you go below the minimum balance). Plus a free safe deposit box (normally $33 per year).

Same here plus an APR discount on credit cards and lines of credit, and no annual fees.

30%. So it's not worth buying stuff on sale unless the discount is more than that ... just buy it when you want it.
