Never been worried for my personal safety at either job, but at the library, we can and do kick out/ban patrons for causing problems. At Macy's, I kind of feel like we have to put up with the customer no matter what, because management doesn't want to lose anyone's business. (I'm sure I'm exaagerating, this is just an impression I've gotten)
