My last name is quite German. There is an American version, pronouned the same but with an extra 'e'. People see my name and I'm automatically a donkey/horse mix. I had a teacher get snotty when I corrected him and say "I guess we'll use the German version then"

Listen Assholes of the world, my name is my name. Do you like being called something else? Then why do you think I do? I swear when people do that I'm going to start butchering their names.

Yes Mrs. Sm-i-th-ah instead of Smith or something.

The Dutch and the Russian pronunciations are the same---the accent is on the 2nd to last syllable.
ah-nah-stah-SEE-a. The Spanish pronunciation is ah-nah-STAH-see-ah.

And yes, you are correct, most of the ignoramuses I have dealt with say it ayh-nayh-sta-sja. Grrr.
Heh. Disney did at least one good thing for me, then.
