  • I'm almost free!!!

I found out last week I was selected to do an internship with the largest news agency in the world. I will be relocating to the east coast at the end of the month. I had initially planned to move to LA, but then this offer came along. I am so thrilled to be leaving public librarianship. Next week is my last week.

Thank you! I will be in Washington, DC, so there is chance I might explore a bit on my weekends

I still can't believe this is happening to me. It's not going to sink in until next week, when I leave behind patrons fighting over computers, patrons arguing about $.25 fines, and patrons viewing porn ten feet from my desk.

I was in DC once, and spent a glorious day exploring the Air and Space museum.

        4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

I'm totally jealous... there's something about DC that I've always loved. Boston may be the city where I want to live... but DC is the city where I've always wanted to work.

TNT, I've never even been to the east coast before. I am so excited about living somewhere entirely different from the west coast. I've heard great things about DC.

Um... you are aware of the commute times in DC, right? Boston may have the crazy, dangerous roads, but at least you get home before dark.

I hope you have a good understanding of crazy maps Just becaue it is almost impossible to understand the DC Subway system.

It's not a bad city (a lot of slums/homeless people though) but I tend to stay away. (I live like 2 hours from DC).

Good luck though. PM me if you'd like to know about cool things to see in Maryland.

I will be directly on the red line, so I'm not that concerned. I would be more worried if I had to make multiple stops.

I live in a major urban city now, and I am a public librarian, so I am used to slums and homeless people. I am used to city living.

I will definitely PM should I decide to explore Maryland
