  • Don't ever throw me under the bus again!

On Sunday I had a guy from the LaCrosse store call and ask for me to send him one of our graphics cards. We have a few of them, and I didn't think much of it, so I sent it.

Today, I get a call asking for another graphics card. The same graphics card. So I look at RSS and see that there are other stores in HIS district that have the same amount or more than what my store has.

I told him that I wouldn't be sending him another one and that he should call one of the stores in his district. He told me that they don't send merchandise between stores in his district that I have sent him the card before. (Really, I don't remember all the word-for-words, yet.)

After about 25-35 minutes I get a call from a customer reeming me for not helping them get the card they want. I seriously spent about 10-15 minutes on the phone just being chewed out for being lazy/and or not caring about good customer service. At this point, I was livid.

So, I started stoming around the store and J our services manager asks me what's wrong. I tell him exactly what's wrong and he goes, "we're paying you to take care of the customers in this store, not make up for the short-comings of other stores. Call up the LaCrosse and tell them off."

So I call LaCrosse and I talk to the person I was dealing with and told him that I didn't appreciate what happened. He got very arrogant with me and asked for my title. I told him "Sales specialist" because that's what I am. He told me he's a senior and that he has rank. I flipped. I'm normally very calm and very diplomatic, but I flipped.

I said, "if you ever fucking throw me under the bus again, I will drive out to LaCrosse and beat your face!" That's when J pulled the phone from me and asked what happened. I told him that I was having ranked pulled on me.

J gets on the phone and goes, "I'm J, the services manager and don't you ever pull rank again just because you screwed up!"

I was so pissed. J said that I acted how he used to act when he was a sales associate... he likes me.
When will the fantasy end? When will the heaven begin?

Do I see the title "services manager" in your future?

Amusingly, the infamous Shit Weasel's favorite phrase was "Don't throw me under the bus" or "he threw me under the bus" or some variant thereof. Naturally, when I left the Landmark Luxury Hotel, I went out of my way to throw that fucker under the bus!

Please don't be offended....I was in no way comparing you to Shit Weasel.

I so need to do that. One of the stores near me has a habit of calling us up asking us to hold an item for a customer because they're always out it seems. Then the customer never shows up.

Meanwhile, a customer comes to my store looking for the specific item we just happen to be holding for somebody else coming from that other store. And because I cannot sell it to them, they leave unhappy and shop our competitors.

So next time they call me asking to hold an item, I'm telling them "if the customer hasn't picked this item up by this time tomorrow, I am driving down to Sheboygan and kicking your ass."

Actually, I think those stories are where the phrase propagated from, Jester. I know I started using the phrase after reading them... it's just so... poetic, yet explicit at the same time.

I hated holding items for customers. I would tell the other store, that If the customer is not here withen 2 hours, it is going ti the first customer that wants it. Hell a manager told us to say that.
