Actually it's because all the retail places order pizza for associates on black friday. That's what they did for us for the past 2 years in 2 stores.

there's an article on Yahoo about how pizza places always get busy the day after Thanksgiving. I very rarely eat pizza, so I had no idea. Can anyone confirm this for me? Does this always happen on black Friday?
      Yes, yes it does.

Every year on Black Friday, my place has a new record of orders/deliveries/pick-ups.

It's awful lol And none of them tip XP

The damnest thing I ever saw was the day after Christmas one year, when we opened our pizza place and this guy came in for lunch and ordered...................a turkey sub.

I personally can not stand too much turkey.
I'm with you on the Anti Turkey Bandwagon. I basically avoid it now, and either get ham if it's available, or just extra stuffing if it's not. Because I LOVE stuffing. My favorite part of the holiday meals. Despite my small size, my record is six helpings of stuffing in one sitting. Even my stepbrother, who is nicknamed Hoover for the prodigious amount of food he can put away, was amazed by me that day.

Strange, I did notice as I was leaving on Saturday that our take and bake pizzas were almost completly gone, and I've never seen that.

My pizza shop is NEVER busy the day after Thanksgiving but we usually pick up quite a bit on Sat. however. I think that has more to do with the big rivalry game on that day though (Florida vs Florida State).

On BF, customers were going up to the deli for sliced pressed turkey. They were laughed at.

As were the coworkers who came up to the sandwich counter wanting turkey subs.

Oh, yes, the jeering was strong last week.

Not sure about this, but the logical reasons have been posted. The interesting thing (I worked in pizza places for years) is that according to Dominos their busiest day of the year is the night before Thanksgiving.
