    Okay, if you're not going to listen to He Who Pays the Bills around here (that would be Rapscallion), this thread is going to be closed.

    Please keep this thread limited to a discussion of the rules mentioned in the OP. There is a lovely site called Fratching where the politics of smoking & public health may be explored in greater detail if that's what lights your Camel.

      My bet, regarding the smoking rules in the OP, is that there were a few people who were abusing their smoking privs. Management got tired of it and decided to just lay down the law.

        We have designated smoking areas outside at the factory. There is no smoking allowed near main entrances/exits to the building, unless you are walking towards the building and putting it out as soon as you get there. AKA, no standing by the door and smoking.

        We've been pleading for a heated area to smoke in, but that's not going to happen.
