Why are the fricking buttons falling off?

Or "Why did we have a major, excessively publicised refit several months ago and the till buttons were not replaced?" -.-

Basically, every time you press the Enter, Sign Out, No, Clear and/or PLU buttons on some of the tills, they fall off. Sometimes, you will notice that there is Blu-tac underneath in a pathetic attempt to fix said buttons. Other times, you will go on the till to find no buttons as the button has fallen off and gotten lost and you have to press the little sticky out bits instead.

I'm not back at work, but this has been annoying me for some time. *sigh*

At my last C-store company most of the registers were like this. What made it bad was that every store had their registers set up differently. So it was always fun to fill in for somebody and have to sit there and figure out what each missing key did.
