This happened Thursday afternoon.
I was over at the other plant for the day. After lunch, my supervisor (who is super awesomely cool, btw) drove over to see how things are. He also had another reason. He's about to head back and asks if I want to ride back with him.
"No, thanks. I'll ride back with Johnny (name changed)." I say
"Noo... I think you will ride back with me." Supervisor says. Uh oh.
I get in the truck and we drive for a bit. I ask "Is it good or bad?" with a little smile.
Then he said "It's definitely not good. Not good at all." He pulls over and takes out a copy of the phone bill for our department. (We are issued Nextel phones.)
There's my name next to a phone number. And under that number are 3 pages of phone calls, out and in. He then asks why I have made over $250 worth of phone calls. I give him the
face and ask to look at the bill.
Sure enough, over $250 worth of calls. Then I look closer. Luckily, I had my personal phone on me as well. I grab my nextel and dial my personal number. My caller ID shows a totally different number than what is shown on the bill.
I show this to the supervisor and tell him that it isn't my phone/account. The secretary put my name with the wrong number. I also point out that this person has called the same number twice a day, every day for the past billing cycle. When I am operating the plant, I carry a different phone with me. The calls were also made late in the evening, around 7:00 p.m. I don't take my phone home with me, because I do not want to be responsible for losing it. I leave it at work, charging, every night.
So after I prove my innocence, my supervisor decides to call the number. He does, and a woman answers. Hmmm.. I ask him to call the other number; see who answers. Then we'll know who was making all the calls. (Why they didn't do that in the first place is beyond me.)
Super calls the number.. and the plant fuck-up answers. He's a kid (23 years old) that messes up everything he touches. I think I may have posted about him before. He is on his last breath at the plant. One more foul up, and he may be fired. Well, this may have done it.
Supervisor drives me back to home base, apologizing for most of the time. I tell him not to worry; it wasn't his fault. It was the secretary's for not paying attention
What I don't understand is... WHY would you call your girlfriend twice, sometimes three times a day, EVERY DAY? I am not that P-whipped. And on the company phone?? That's not a smart thing to do.
