what's stupid is on our 5 cent coin they recently changed the artwork because someone found it offensive that we would put monti cello (thomas jefferson's private residence, an architectural gem as I understand) on our currency because Jefferson owned slaves.

They changed the artwork on the nickel to commemorate the Lewis & Clark expedition.

Monticello will return to the nickel once their thru with the minting run of the Lewis & Clark commemorations.

It's already back there. Find the nickles where Thomas is looking towards you, instead of bust-style view (the 2006 mintings).

The Euro bills are different sizes as well as different colours (the larger the currency, the larger the bill). Makes it easier when fishing through your wallet when paying for something. Even having the different colours (like the canadian money) makes it easier to find the bill that you need (or to assess how much money you have on you).

As for dollar coins, it's something that you get use to. Either your change purse is full of $1 and $2 coins, or your wallet is filled with $1 or $2 bills.
