Being racist right in front of me

I get SOOOOOOO mad at my parents sometimes. When I was a kid, my dad used to tell Polish jokes, Chinese jokes... his favorites were Pakistani jokes. I used to tell him his jokes weren't funny, and I didn't like them, and he'd tell me to shut up... my mother makes offensive comments about other drivers on the road (my mother being one of the WORST drivers I've ever encountered), especially if they're black or asian (she keeps claiming that because she works for an insurance adjuster, she knows that the people who cause the most accidents are middle-aged asian women - possibly statistically true.... but it's absolutely NO excuse to make rude comments with me and my kids in the car!).

It just drives me nuts that my parents, who consider themselves open-minded, accepting people, are such bigotted, small-minded idiots sometimes. *GRRRRRR*

It could be worse.

Its probably best if we limited ourselves to discussing people who tell racist jokes in general. We don't need to share any specific stereotypes here, even if its just to tell everyone that we find them offensive. We all do.
