I am not exactly proud to say I know Jesse Ventura, though I haven't talked to him in years. His wife, Theresa (aka Terri) is an avid horsewoman and she would often enter in shows that were at the same places my friends entered in. I went along to help with tack and horse care, since I didn't have any interest in actually showing at the time. Jesse (aka James Janos) never came out to shows, except when he was running for Governor (no I did not vote for him either). I got to also chat with him periodically when my high school played against Champlin Park, the school he was coaching for, and I was in the marching band. I felt bad because he was such an arrogant prick, but Terri is an absolute sweetheart and quite the opposite. She was always willing to give you tips and help you with your horse and riding. Haven't seen her in years since they moved to the other side of the Cities.

The last two times Robert Rankin came to town, I went to his signing and got drunk with him, at which point he half jokingly propositioned me.

I got invited backstage by the bassist at my favourite bands gig (turned him down- how I knew I was in love with Jos)

Urrrmmm... My mum went to school with The Cure- they were her brother Sean's best friends. Robert Smith used to call her 'beanpole'.

If any of you know an author called Lisane Matthews, or Andrews, or possibly Norman I used to go out with her son...

My best friend is Beth Orton's cousin

I used to get taught maths by Mary Tudor, I was good friends with a girls whose dad was called James Joyce, and I knew a Katie Winslet.

I forget precisely which job this was at (but it had to be one of the two mortgage companies I've worked at) but I had a coworker doing a mortgage for Weird Al Yankovic. I was going through her files looking for a lost file, if I remember correctly, and saw the name Yankovic, and spent a moment longer to realize it was his file, and asked my dad about it that night, and he confirmed that he'd heard that the accordion player himself had gotten something through us, and had actually been roped into helping figure out the file, and the house was really impressive. Even though my Dad worked in the other channel for mortgages, he helped out the channel I was in at the time.

Last Friday, my ex-husband watched the Cubs game in the same suite as Toby Keith (he was playing in Chicago later that evening.) Several years ago, he and I took our daughter to the airport to leave for spring break and he got to meet John Mellencamp while waiting for me outside the restroom. As I went in, he was complaining about how he was always waiting for me to use the restroom when we were married and how some things never change. But then he was all happy when I came out, since he would not have met Mellencamp if he had not been waiting for me.
