Forever Stamps

I'm a receptionist for a popular internet search engine company. One of my many duties as a receptionist is sell postage stamps to to the people in my building.

Today a woman came up to me with a letter and a sheet of the "Forever" stamps that were instated so that people would not have to buy the add-on stamps every time the price of postage went up.

Here's how that conversation went:

Employee: "Hey The Benj, did the price of postage go up?"
Me: "Yeah, by one cent, I think. But I see you still have the 'Forever' stamps. You can still use those."
Employee: "Oh really? How long are the 'Forever' stamps good for?"
Me: "... Um. I think they're good... like... forever..."

I had that same exact conversation with my grandmother! Mum nearly died laughing.

*twitches* We warn people too early and no one remembers, we only give them a few days warning and it doesn't stick. So we try something nice with the forever stamps and people STILL don't get it. MEH! Meh I say!

I had a customer the other day ask me if I had any of the new stamps. I told her that we only had the forever stamps, but she didn't want them because they weren't good anymore.
I tried to explain to her that they were still good but I don't think she believed me.

I, however, would love them, but they keep selling out.

I was at the Post office getting stamps and one of the customers ahead of me was trying to buy 1 cent stamps to put with her Forever stamps.

I mean the whole purpose of Forever stamps is that they are good "forever".
