When I applied, there were 18,000ish undergrads. Now the University has realized that since they only guarantee two years of housing, they can push upperclassmen off campus (most go anyway because it's cheaper) by making lots of the dorms freshmen-only, and forcing freshmen to live in frosh-only dorms, and increase the amount of money coming into the school by increasing the number of full-time students.
Last estimate was somewhere around 20,000+ undergrads and maybe 8,000 grads or so (dunno because I haven't seen any numbers recently) but if the Uni succeeds in pushing juniors/seniors off campus, we'll be pushing 35,000 or more within five years or so. We also serve all faculty, staff, and former faculty of the University, which adds up. And there are all of... a dozen guys in Software Support. Joy.
Luckily the Help Desk has about a zillion employees, but we still occasionally get their overflow calls and anything they can't figure out (I had one yesterday). We obviously prefer walk-ins to phone calls, since it's easier to fix in person, but we don't usually get to choose.
