  • Today's retail math lesson

Big ad for our lowest prices of the season sale
+ No Packers game on TV
+ No NASCAR race on TV
+ The post office screwing up and mailing our huge ad a day early
+ A skeleton crew because corporate did not expect the ad to be out one day early,
and expected Monday and Tuesday to be the busiest days of the sale=

I.P Freleigh running around like a headless chicken!

OMG, we got slammed today! I was on carryout and carts and was running all day. In my few moments of not doing carryouts and carts, I stayed in domestics and requested the bedding several times over because that's what happened to be selling today. I guess everybody went out to buy their winter sheets and blankets today.

Plus a few humorous customers, such as the couple who wanted to buy one of our table fixtures, plus one of our regulars who deserves her own thread.

I guess it was absolute mayhem at the front end today; one of the service desk workers called in sick and I don't think they were able to replace her. They were caling for backup cashiers constantly.

I take it that the ad didn't have a sale starts on date?

The ad started yesterday. All our ads start on Sunday.

However, when our ad is a big book that gets sent through the mail and not inserted in the Sunday paper, it usually isn't delivered to people until Monday.
