Considering the workload we've had the games store, it's a minor miracle we've been able to do as much as we have, unfortunately corporate has decided to cut our hours on us.
Now we are already back to our regular non-holiday hours and our seasonal guys will be finishing up within a week. We've still been given drastically fewer hours for the month than our manager was expecting.
We got a memo sent to us by corporate that tried to put a good spin on this. Some crap about the company being "leaner, meaner and ready to rock". They blame the hours reduction on "these difficult times".
Translation: Your hours are being cut and you'll have fewer employees that have to carry a greater workload.
Oh and of course we don't get paid any extra despite the fact we are being asked to do more work. That would make too much sense.
I know for a fact other managers aren't pleased about the hours reduction either. Maybe if enough of them bitch to corporate we'll get more hours next month.
