  • There's always something you forget...

As some of yoy know I do some work for <First Aid Charity> when I'm not at <The Day Job>.

There we were providing first aid cover; two ambulances, fully kitted out with everything your heart could desire (or infact any other body part). Our first patient of the day walks up and asks for a plaster.

    Fair Enough.

Unfortunately the smallest dressing we had on either ambulance was approx 15x10cm, which fo a 5mm cut is a little excessive.

The patient, understandably, declined. We won't forget to pick up a pack of plasters before we head out again!
A PSA, if I may, as well as another.

You shoulda gone the whole nine yards and offered them a splint and cast for their nasty wound

It was a tiny little graze on their back, to splint that would have meant a full collar and boarding!

Interesting little subnote, if you're strapped in correctly to a long (spinal) board then you can be turned upside down, propped against a wall, whatever, and you won't all out!
