AdelaideNow website. It's turned into quite a long debate and quite a few people have commented on the fact that they'll get maybe 200 comments on something like water, but they get over 500 on plastic bags.
One idiot pointed out that lack of bags=not good customer service. Funny, I thought customer service involved being friendly and efficient and solving problems quickly, not standing there handing out free garbage bags to people.The best professors are mad scientists! -Zoom

We've had a government tax levy on plastic bags for about 2 years now. The normal plastic bags are 22cent and the bigger ones are 37cent. Most people re-use larger plastic bags.
However in clothes shops and the drapery section of the department store I work in..it's all paper bags. And Ireland is very rainy. Paper bags are really weak and it's such a pain double bagging everything. But the environment is benefiting
