Just because I find this slightly funny now.... I have a BA in psychology -- there's now a job opening at a counceling center for people that have a BA (strange.... normally it's a masters, but I'm applying anyway).

I wonder if they'll want a psyc test

during the 30 years of my working career I have taken SOOOOOOOOOO many of those psych test. the most unusual one is the one I took for my current job as a delivery driver. oh what a wonderous thing a psych test for a "fast food place".

most of the ones I took were just like the OP described. they asked the same question in a different way at least 5 times. I believe I took soo many of those that I could spot all of the variations.

One test was composed of 3 sheets glued together. I got bored looked between the sheets. the middle sheet was some sort of "map" from one check box to another. I assume the path indicated the psych profile path
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

The reason they ask all those questions multiple times in multiple different ways is to see how consistent you are.

And yet they say "work as quickly as possible" so you don't get too much time to figure out what an alternate wording is actually asking.

If it wasn't that they said do not call us about employment I would've stopped the test halfway through and called to ask "It's a joke right? You really don't want people to answer these questions?" But didn't want to risk not getting a position because of that requirement
I would have stopped and asked if it was for real... but since they didn't want calls, I would have just stopped doing the test and gave it up as a lost cause. Then again, I'm like the Imp of the Perverse... I would have kept going and lied outrageously. Then, if I'd gotten the job, I'd have been shocked!
