Dumbfounding, but hilarious

So I answer the phone, and it's T's daughter (again), but she's sobbing. I try to get her mother, but she's in a meeting. When I go back to the line to tell her, she's already hung up.

Hey, I'm a soft-hearted person still. Life on this Earth has yet to kill my soul.

Anyway, she calls back a little later, and I check to see if T's still in the meeting. Takes about a second. I go back to the line and...

T's Daughter: SCREAMSCREAMYELLPROFANITYSOMETHINGABOUTSOMEONE'SF* INGKIDSSCREAMMORE!

Me: Uh... your mother will call you right back.

TD: Thanks. Sorry.

I hang up, stunned. Then start laughing because that was the funniest damn thing to happen in weeks.

My boss's daughter calls the store a lot too. I recently found out that once we connect her with her mother she "rates" us on how well we answered the phone. Whether we gave the proper greeting, whether we sounded peppy enough, etc. All this time she's been a spy!
