I'm starting to get the feeling I'm overdressed for this message board.

Black suit (pants + blazer, grand total of $180 which came directly out of my $150 food budget), collar shirt (any color), whatever $1 tie I can get my hands on.

Once I go home: whatever I wear to school. I think I'll get a great quote printed on a shirt that I saw on these boards: "Why can't ignorance be painful?"

At school (working with the kids):

Jeans, sneakers, and a T-shirt, polo shirt, or long sleeve shirt (depending on the weather and what I feel like that day). It's pretty lenient because I'm a sub, and I work with kids. Just has to be conservative.

      At Home (the supermarket):

White short sleeve blouse, Navy blue pants, turquoise (soon to be a light olive green) vest, Navy clip-on floppy tie thingy, and sneakers. On days that I'm doing random cleaning work or whatever, my grey company polo (also soon to be light olive green), navy pants, and sneakers. (that'll probably give away the company I work for, but that's fine. It's a huge company, and I've mentioned it a few times on the board).

Essentially business casual, which for me consists of khaki, black, or some other neutral colored slacks, a button up blouse, long-sleeved teeshirt, v-neck sweater, whatever, something with sleeves, and the requisite white smock.
We're not allowed to wear jeans, and we're really not supposed to wear tennishoes that aren't completely white or black, but meh....Mine are mostly white, and they offer great support and besides, no one sees my feet behind the counter anyways.

Depends on what job I'm scheduled for.

Checker-French Blue golf shirt; full apron; tan/khaki pants.

Scan-French Blue golf shirt; full apron; black pants.

Front Desk-Red golf shift; half apron; black pants in cold weather/navy blue skirt in warm weather.

A suit. I have to wear very formal work clothes as our dress code is very strict about that: "Business/Professional Attire"
I work for the government so I don't really have a choice. I like "dressing up" for work everyday.

Business Casual, whatever the h*ll that means. Seriously, I've worked here for 6 years and in the corporate world before that, and i have never found out what business casual actually means. Today therefore i am wearing smart black trousers, a plain black v-neck top, black highheeled boots and a silk scarf round my neck. I'm thinking of going back into office formal next year, simply to improve my personal morale (that, and i saw some awesome suits at Austin Reed and Kaliko that I really liked).

                    *deap breath*

Navy summer- or winter-weight trousers or a navy skirt (bleargh, i don't wear that)

Blue short- or long-sleeved blouses with mandarin collars

Grey waistcoat with loads of pockets.

                    Navy summer blazer.

                    Navy winter blazer.

                    Lightweight but cosy anorak.

Parka (actually it's a duvet with sleeves).

                    Shoes/boots.

                    Blue woolen sweatshirt.

                    Blue woolen t-shirt.

                    Blue poloneck shirts.

                    Navy fleece.

                    Hi visibility vest.

                    Wooly hat.

                    Underground Ernie-style hat.

                    Belt.

                    Official bag.

                    Official bumbag.

Mega lamp (it's considered part of my uniform).

                    *breathes out*

Obviously i don't wear it all at once but it took three days to get it all home - actually now that i think about it, i don't yet have everything i should be issued with. I know for certain that i haven't bothered to unpack everything yet and i started working there in July. I also get the feeling i have forgotten something...

I have friends who consider me to be the human equivalent of those paper dolls where you have different clothes to fasten over with lil white tabs. They want to choose which parts of the uniform i wear each day lol. It's actually kinda fun getting dressed cos there's so much to choose from.

If you figure it out, let me know. I've been trying to figure that out for quite sometimes myself. Every time I hear that expression, I just want to scream, "Well which is it? Business or casual?" To me, "Business casual" is an oxymoron, right up there with "honest politician" and "rap music."

I work in a business casual office. For us, it just means no denim or sneakers. Of course though every Friday, the whole last week of the month, and any days before holidays are all "casual" days and jeans and sneakers become fair game.
The only words you said that I understood were "His", "Phone" and "Ya'll". The other 2 paragraphs worth was about as intelligible as a drunken Teletubby barkin' come on's at a Hooter's waitress.

Bright orange shirt with navy pants and a reflective vest. During the winter right now, it's usually a bright orange snowsuit with a hat and gloves along with the vest.

EDIT: On days that there is a Chelsea game, I wear my scarf of hat to work if we win. While I am supposed to wear stuff that has the basketball team logo on it no one cares an it makes for interesting conversations.

I dress like an office worker (but one who wears pink sneakers)

I usually wear a mid sleeved top in cranberry, chocolate brown or jade green with a cardigan and I have pants for work are rotate, grey, brown, black.

I have a 7 days worth of work clothes, all in those colours, 7 tops, 4 pair of pants, 2 cardigans,2 sweaters and two pairs of shoes thats it. As something wears out I buy a new top to replace it. My maximum spend for work clothes is $30 a piece (and that includes my shoes)....and there all from cheap discount stores. Im so anal about them staying looking new I literally dry clean or hand wash every single piece one at a time.

Its my uniform, I dont offically have one, but I keep work clothes strictly for work, that way they last longer, and it cuts down on laundry. Its sad but true, ALL of my work clothes MUST fit into the colours I listed...like I said...its a uniform.

That was me that posted that. A friend of mine had a t-shirt from a bar in Savannah, Georgia, that had that saying on it. When I see him again, I will ask what bar that was, as I can't remember off the top of my head. Ask me about it in a week or two.

As for the uniform, though we did this already in a thread called dress code, but why not?

At the hotel, in the new restaurant (which is where they have me mostly lately): black shirt with the restaurant logo, khaki shorts, black belt, white socks, black sneakers (though they are not real strict on the shoes, but then, I always own black sneakers anyway.) Black ballcap with restaurant logo optional...I tend not to wear it. Black apron required for servers, but not for bartenders or supervisors (though I have one anyway). And nametag.

At the hotel in either of the other two bars: from the waist down, all the same, from the waist up, light blue polo shirt with hotel logo on it. And nametag.

At the waterfront bar: Almost anything, as long as you don't look crappy. Seriously, the typical uniform for me is my brown cargo shorts, socks and sneakers, ballcap and one of the bar's t-shirts. They encourage us to wear those, and give them to us (I have two), but you can also wear a t-shirt with any beer or booze on it that they sell (I have lots of booze shirts). They are pretty lenient, as long as you are not wearing a hat or shirt advertising another bar in town. (You can get away with wearing a shirt or hat from another bar somewhere else in the country, though.) For special events, they encourage us to dress for the event (black for biker weekend, tropical shirts and leis for the parrotheads, etc.) or dress in costume (pirate week, Fantasy Fest, etc.). With that said, I am violating all of that intentionally this Saturday, as I am wearing my ASU hat (which I usually wear) and one of my many ASU shirts, as Saturday is The Most Important Football Game Of The Year: ARIZONA STATE at arizona. (Tune in at 6 pm ET.) Knowing the Boss Lady, she won't mind at all. She likes enthusiastic employees. GO SUN DEVILS!!!

                              Still A Customer."

My usual work uniform consists of an old pair of sweats (cutoff without ragged edges or holes in the summertime), a tee shirt or henley, a cardigan or sweatshirt in the winter, socks, sneaks and a clean white apron and hairnet. Often in the winter I'll use a pair of thin waterproof gloves, since I'm handling cold wet stuff for hours on end and it dries the hell out of my skin. Burt's Bees hand salve is my friend!
