I started a new job at the end of July. A laptop was ordered a week before I started.
Was it there when I started? Of course not.
Was it there at the end of the week? Of course not.
In the mean time, I'm using a crappy old training laptop for my email, and a laptop from home with the software I need to do my job. (As a contractor, I already own the software, so no licencing issues.)
Well, it's week five, and today I got a delivery of five boxes with a computer manufacturer's logo on the side.
Woohoo! says I.
I open the largest box. A beautiful 22-inch widescreen monitor.
I blinked. Nice. I wasn't expecting that!
Next box that looks like it should hold a laptop. Nope this one has a docking station frame and a monitor stand.
Third box holds a docking station for the frame. Uh-oh.
The only two boxes left look large enough for a mouse and a keyboard. Check and check.
So, monitor, stand, docking station, keyboard and mouse. What could possibly be missing?
Bonus points - The docking station isn't the right size for the training laptop...
*sigh*
