I normally work in electronics. Through electronics are our public bathrooms.
Currently, those are completely closed and blocked off with a giant sheet of wood or particle board or something along those lines(Also blocking the water fountain which makes me sad)
They are making the bathrooms ADA compliant, or making them more ADA complaint, which is a good thing.
The bad thing is that, for the customers, all we have are porta-potties, sitting out in front of the store.
Bad thing for the employees is that they had to close the womens bathroom in out breakroom. So now we have one "unisex" bathroom. It's just the mens bathroom with a paper saying "unisex" on it. the first thing you see when you walk in is a urinal
There is a lock on the door to the bathroom though, so even though it can technically fit three people(there's also two stalls, yet only one sink), it's really only one bathroom for all the employees. I know I'm not using those porta-potties out front, that's for sure.
Hopefully they get this work done real quick.
I haven't had any complaining customers, just confused customers so far. I don;t know how they don't notice the GIANT piece of yellow wood blocking the bathroom area. I'm afraid I'm going to have people walking into our training room which is through a swinging door across from where the bathrooms are.
We do have signs telling people where we have bathrooms, but people only read that the bathrooms are closed and the stop reading and ask me where to go.
I am happy I don't have to worry about people taking stuff into the bathroom with them though!
