So a family of 5 comes in looking for a room. Apparently they came to my lovely island to visit and now are trapped. I know I complain about my long waits for the NL Ferry and how long the trips can be but it's nothing compared to this family.
They can't get a boat back to Newfoundland for TWO WEEKS!!!!
Worst of all they have a wedding to attend on the 24th. So they need to drive the long way around through New Brunswick and Quebec up to Labradour to get back home in time for the wedding.
Anyway, I give them a room and send them on their way.
They come back to tell me that, not only are there lights on in the room I sent them to, but the room is filthy with unmade beds and full ashtrays. I check and the room was supposed to be cleaned, but wasn't. We are having issues with Housekeeping that I will fill you all in on in another thread.
So I apologize, and switch them to another room. They come back and say their keys don't work. So I run back downstairs and try the outside door. Red and Yellow Light. Muttering, "uh-oh" I run back inside and try the inside door. It opens like a charm.
I was then sadly forced to explain to the family, that had asked for a driveup room, that their outside door was BROKEN. They kind of shook their heads, and said they would keep the room.
I just can't believe all their rotten luck.
