One of the registers (not the cursed one) has been acting up for a few days now, mainly having to do with the belts. One works but not the other, neither work unless you jiggle the button for a few seconds, etc.
Last night I'm rounding up baskets, and I see that the power plug (which is located at the front of the register assembly where customers put the baskets, and is just a regular 3-prong with no way to lock it in place) is hanging from the socket. The cord probably got caught on a basket and yanked out at some point.
I put down the pile of baskets and slam the plug back into place. "Hey [cw], I think I just fixed your register."
CW: "How the hell did you do that?"
Me: "I actually looked at the power cord."
CW: "Awesome. Go tell [MOD], he was ready to submit a work order."
I do so.
MOD: "That was the problem?! I'd ask you to look at register four, but I think it's beyond help so I won't subject you to that."
