SO. About a year and a half ago, I finally got A into G, left the previous job, and got my current one (Even beat 93 other applicants!! AND started on a higher rate than my old job).
Since then,
- I've had a raise - Separate to any reviews, simply because they think I was hired too cheaply for the amount of stuff I do.
- I've been sent to exams and been provided with resources to upskill all paid by the job.
- I'm currently up in Auckland for three days, flights and accom paid by work, to do onsite work to cover for someone else.
This. Is Awesome!!!
Compared to my old job
- 500 dollar raise (As in, one raise ever) in 3.5 years.
- Staff turn over rate is huge, heck I think barely anyone I worked with while there is still there.
- The old company lived and breathed the maxim "No good deed goes un punished" and my helping out was taken advantage of.
- I started calling in sick just because I didn't want to go to work.
