  • What do you mean we won something?

So hubby and I went the Portland Timbers vs Seattle Sounders (soccer) on Friday night. Great fun had by all, more fun would have been had if we could have won, even scored would have been nice.

So during half time they made an announcement that 2 people would win 2 round trip tickets on Amtrak for their Cascades line. We didn't think much of it since we never win anything.

Little while later, a gentleman comes by us and says congrats you just won 2 tickets on Amtrak! To say we were stunned would be an understatement.

We look at each other and say "We can go to the Vancouver game!"

We are very excited. So now I need to get info on getting our enhanced licences (that will be fun)

Also need to figure out getting a car (do they drive on the same side of the road we do) and getting a hotel and tickets to the game. And what fun things there are to do in Vancouver.

Good thing the game is in September.

    Yay for winning stuff!

I assume you mean you're going to the Vancouver in BC.

There are lots of fun things to do in the city (and yes, we drive on the same side of the road )

It really depends on what you're interested in, but there is Science world (http://www.scienceworld.ca/)

    The Vancouver Art Gallery (http://www.vanartgallery.bc.ca/)

    Granville Island (http://www.granvilleisland.com/)

    The Lonsday Quay (http://www.lonsdalequay.com/)

There's shopping of course :P Downtown around the Granville/Robson/Burrard area, as well as in Burnaby at Metropolis at Metrotown (http://www.metropolisatmetrotown.com)

Those are just a few of the touristy things you can do here. I hope you have fun on your trip!

I was about to say it be pretty easy to drive to Vancouver in Washington from Portland.

That being said, why you never hang with the Plaidman at Portland?

Don't want to rain on your parade, but expect to get a 1099 early next year for the value of that trip.
