A man was standing next to the trash can a little ways from the line. I asked him if he needed help he said no and pointed to his wife being helped in my (1)co-workers window. I nodded and turned my attention back to the line.
(2)CW: "Bye anakah!"
I turned to see one of my CW's leaving and he was trying to be nice and grabbed a drink (that someone had left in my window) and took it to the trash. Now what happened after that was pure hell.
I guess he (the CW) didn't set it down as softly as it needed because next thing I know he is asking me for tissues. Remember the guy that was standing by the trash can? Well, a little bit got splashed on the backside of his over shirt.
CW: I'm really sorry sir.
SC: What the hell do you think you were doing?! Throwing a drink in there?! Is it alcohol or water?!
CW: I don't know sir, it was just a drink...
SC: This is unacceptable! What are YOU going to do about it!?
My CW was freaking out. He was still in uniform, signed out but hadn't swipped his card to clock out yet.
I was getting alarmed because it was starting to get loud.
SC: *turns to me* Get your supervisor!
Me: Yes, sir.
I go back into the back, explain the situation and the supervisor comes out.
SC: Look at what he did! This effing sucks!
And continues screaming until blue in the face.
SV: Sir, if you don't calm down, I'm going to call security.
SV: 2CW, go back inside.
CW: But I'm off right now...
SV: Oh, then go ahead and go.
The SC was furious that CW just got to leave. He had a bus to catch...
SV: Sir, lets go to the security podium.
I didn't get to hear what happened at the time but later I made sure to get the full scoop.
When the supervisor told him that he needed to stop yelling the SC said he wasn't yelling at that the SV just had "good ears."
Later the SV got asked by the SC what they were going to do about his shirt.
SV: Let it dry?
I swear to god I love my SV. It was an accident. Stuff happens. It really wasn't that bad. It was like a small sprinkle of liquid.
The SC stormed off and wasn't seen again.
Now, I do see his side. He's on vacation or whatever and gets splashed a bit by some unknown drink. He shouldn't have gotten very verbally abusive towards my CW. THe CW apologized up the ass but it wasn't good enough. I think the SC wanted a new over shirt.
I would be upset too but I wouldn't make a huge scene about it.
Now, had my CW been out of uniform and just a customer, would he have received the same treatment from the SC? If I were my CW I would've played the race card just to be a prick Just kidding, that's never okay.
My CWers were talking about it and were also wondering if the SC (who was a man) had yelled at a female instead of a male. Some of the girls said they would have played the girl card and cried. Ha.
I had another co worker who said she would've pretended she didn't do it and that a passerby did it. I don't know. I think both parties got sucked into a sucky situation and there wasn't anything either party could have done to make it right.
