  • Great New Show, Not.

I just saw the synopsis for a new game sow on TBS called "Deal with It" and one of the "contestants" throws her shoe to get a waitress' attention. So apparently being a ducky customer now will get you not only a money prize, but on TBS as well. Great more asinine behaviors for workers to deal with.....

Well, it's not like being on TBS is really a prize. ~_~

I don't think I get TBS here. What kind of gameshow is that? If this is par for the course for this chanel, I'm glad I don't have it.

On what planet is it OK to throw things at anyone? Unless you're playing some kind of ball game.

Is it a feeder for a planned courtroom show?

It's a hidden camera, escalating prank show. Contestants are fed a series of escalating pranks to pull on the unsuspecting people around them. If they do it, they get $$. Its a stupid idea that I suspect isn't going to last long in our litigious society.

I can think of another application of "deal with it"

            Customer: *throw shoe*
            Employee: OW! What the hell
Customer: deal with it. Now serve me
Employee: Get out now or I call the cops.
            Customer: !!! Blargle!
Employee: *calls cops* Deal with it.

Hey it works for Hardcore Pawn, no?

Ok, this is beyond a ridiculous idea. I doubt they're trying the shoe stunt at a major chain restaurant. Although the resulting lawsuit between Applebees corporate lawyers and TBS's corporate lawyers might actually be interesting...

Nah. They'd settle out of court without TBS having to admit they were fuckin' stupid...

I was curious about the show and watched it last night. The waitress was in on the prank, actually looks like all of the staff are in on the pranks. The primary person being pranked was the shoe-thrower's boyfriend. Secondary people being pranked are the other customers in the restaurant.

All in all, I don't think the show will last long.

A radio show over here once offered some sort of prize to the first person who'd go to a bakery, order a cream éclair... and then throw said cream éclair at the store attendant's face. A young man accepted the challenge.

To make a long story short, the doofus got assault charges, the radio show was cancelled promptly and IIRC the DJs were practically black-balled from the whole industry.

Seems pretty funny to me. It's a prank show lol it is what it is, time to unwad those panties and laugh a little. I'm sure the victims of the pranks are compensated in some way honestly. That's how it usually works.

Plus they have to sign releases .etc

He's right. Usually, anyone that gets involved with them are on the show, but they are not professional actors or anything. I'd assumed they get paid for it, with tv publicity in addition. Honestly, if i was serving and the prank show came up (it would have to be someone i had heard of on tv before though) and offered to pay me AND be on tv, and all i'd have to do is take care of a sucky customer (that they are making them do), totally do it. Especially since they had told the waitress to "ignore her" the first few times. <3 it!

And the prank before that, the guy going through the luggage, he was good at the improv.

"oh yeah, i remember having one of those RC cars as a kid..."
Howie in headset: "Destroy the car!"
"But you know what, this is a lobby dude" *kicks car*
