Hi all, first time poster long time lurker, been around since 07 I think but this is the first time ive ever come out of hiding. I myself dont work my partner M does, and I usually wouldn't have anything to contribute but seeing this seriously made me wtf and I needed to share it.
Background:
M works for a company here in Australia referred to as Big upside down M, every second Friday I drive him to work so I can go shopping and then pick him up after work.
/End Background
Yesterday I was waiting for M to finish work as I usually get there about 15 minutes early and browse, he works in the home ent/electronics area of the store. I was browsing dvds when an older woman late thirties I guess asks about video games for kids under 6. I didnt see the games he showed her but I heard her say she didnt want a certain game because it showed racial stereotypes, didn't teach proper language skills and it was a bunch of gibberish, she then proceeded to purchase a barbie dress up game.
When I asked him about it after, the game in question?
Dora the Explorer.
I just wtf because my own kids have a Dora game and I dont think Barbie is any more educational than something that teaches you a second language at an early age.
Anyway, sorry about the long post but I really didn't think these sort of people existed, not in Australia anyway, guess Im proved wrong.
