[QUOTE=JustADude;119021]That sounds like the only sensible explanation right there (but we all know that if it makes sense...). If the one that left immediately at 8:30 when they locked up was the MOD, then yeah, the other two probably wouldn't have been allowed to close up without management on site, so...
    QUOTE]

Well, I can't say what the corporate policy is, but I've been there at night with only one, non-management employee on site. But I guess if one policy can be violated, why not another?

And I can understand if the manager had somewhere to go. But not if that somewhere was the bar across the street. Try justifying that to corporate.

In any event, this wasn't a life-shaking experience. I went to a local barber on Firday, who I happen to like better anyway. I only went to SuperCuts because of the convenience, being that I usually work late and they're the only place open.

    No big loss, I guess.

We had a SuperCuts open 2 miles down the road from us which is really convenient, especially since where I usually go requires going through downtown which can be a pain, but my mom went there and found out they charge 10 bucks just to dry your hair after they cut it. I go to another quickie walk-in place (they also do appointments) and I always go to the same girl. She charges $16 to cut my hair which includes drying (which is important to me since you can't really see what it looks like until it's dry), and she gets a 25% tip (I pay with a 20 and give her the change). I only get my hair cut every 2-3 months anyway, so the minor inconvenience of getting there is worth it to me.

In the case of the OP, I think I'd have said "Oh, I thought you closed at 9" and see what they said. If they had a legitimate reason to close early, they should have said so, not just "Sorry we're done"...

Supercuts, and similar walk-in places, pay by the hour. The stylists are getting paid whether they're cutting hair or not, so why bother actually working if you're still going to get paid?

If you don't complain, this will continue. You don't have to be rude or nasty, but I'm sure the owner would like to know what is going on. The owner is not going to make any money if the stylists aren't doing their jobs.

I got my haircut tonight and remembered this thread so I asked the stylest. She told me that last haircut is 30 minutes before close. I got in at 7:28 and they close at 8:00 so she gave me my cut

Maybe you had a similar situation?

Woah... this... can't be happening... something... makes sense... and it was ALLOWED?!?! I get that policy completely... same principle as restaurants stopping seating well before they actually close up. The employees in the OP were still rude about it, though.
