    Well, I'll apply for this job right away

    (If this belongs in check it out, I apologize in advance)
    So, as many of you know, I'm trying to find a better paying job, preferably outside of casinos, but as it is that I already sold my soul, I think I could work in a less than ideal job for a little more money... hey, if I'm selling my soul, I might as well sell it to the highest bidder. Well, I came across a job posting that definitely is not winning the bidding war.



    Well, for that extravagant salary, I think I'll apply right away.

    Better get on that. I bet they have a huge stack of resumes to go through. I wonder if that's a typo.

      Hmmm. Advertising an unpaid internship as a full-time job?

        It just means that a figure wasn't entered when the job opening was listed.

        There are a number of reasons why that might have happened.

          No worries CIO applies when the thread is basically just a link and a description/when going to another site is the whole point of the thread. You're cool.

          As for the $0....either it's an unpaid internship that's being advertised in a shady way, or they don't wanna reveal their salary offer in public. Could be worth a call just to see if the latter is the case. If it's the former, it could be good for a laugh. Preferably while you're still on the phone with them.

            Having a hard time not laughing at that ad.

            Might be a good one to apply for. Seriously.

            While filling out the form for the ad, they probably left the Salary entry blank, there by making it $0.00.

            A lot of people might be turned off by the ad, meaning less competition for the job.

            And when you apply for the job, point out the mistake. You are an auditor, are you not? Assure them that you will help them prevent those types of errors in the future. If pointing out the mistake prevents you from getting the job, you don't want to work for them.

              You could be on to something, C2. That ad is a test for auditors.....or a typo in the salary line.
              I'm trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my keister!

                Yeah, I know what company it is for, and as I understand it, it is a horrible place to work, they treat their employees like cattle and have the attitude of if you aren't happy, well too bad, we aren't paying you to be happy, or fulfilled, or anything like that, we are paying for you to produce at 110% constantly or find yourself on unemployment.
                Granted, this is all third hand that I've heard it, it could be a great company, but I'm trying to get out of gaming as it is... I can see the writing on the wall, gaming is no longer going to be a powerhouse here, and the sooner I get out, the sooner I can start on a career that might actually go somewhere.

                  I doubt that - if they treated cattle the way they treat their employees, the USDA and SPCA would be on them like white on rice.

                      Years and years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was looking for my first job out of high school, I remember reading an ad in a local paper (*very* small town).

                      Are you looking for a job that has no future? Your search has ended!
