If you want I can tell the story of the day I yelled at a delivery driver at work and got a commendation for it.
      SPILLLLLLLLLLL IT WS!!!!!!

I wanna hear how stupid the driver was to get yelled at by a desk clerk.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

        Ok ok!

So at my hotel we serve a LOT of people visiting a local hospital that specializes in disorders of the lungs and respiratory system. That means that a lot of my guests have O2 concentrators being delivered, and being in high-altitude Denver, the O2 equipment is even more critical.

Well one driver said he had 02 concentrators on his truck but he wouldn't deliver one to the guest because of some kind of "authorization to deliver to the hotel" or some other beaucratic bull hooky. So my guest was facing being left unable to breathe because he didn't have his paperwork in order.

Um, no. Not happening. The phrase "you DO NOT treat my guests this way, get your manager on the phone" was used (by me, in a slightly less than soft-spoken manner). The guest got their O2 machine and I got an Atta Girl.

So then leave said city. Nobody is forcing you to stay, you asshat, and you'd be doing everyone a favor.
Everyone except the residents of the city he'll be moving to.

I'd have probably done the same thing. Saving someone's life is more important than being polite. Do both if possible, but if you can only pick one, then save someone's life!

Her life probably wasn't at risk (she wasn't intubated, just needed supplemental 02) but her health / time could have been. Too long without her machine means an ER visit, and I really didn't want her to have to deal with that.

Was there some sort of actual missing paperwork behind that driver's position (certifying that the location didn't have open flames or a lot of sawdust or something), or did he seem to be just looking for something green and about six inches by two-and-a-half inches?

I don't actually know what the reason was, but this company does that a LOT. They act like they're delivering dry-cleaning instead of things people need to, you know, LIVE. In fact, our valet dry cleaner actually has better service.
