I have eaten BLTs fresh out of the fridge. Its not like the bacon strips aren't cooked before they go on the sammich. I actually don't like the bacon super hot. Warm is ok but I prefer cold so grease doesn't make the bread soggy.

Quoth EricKei View PostI just wish I could get them to actually TOAST the things without just telling them to charbroil the sammiches. They're usually barely in the toaster box long enough to get soft and warm, let alone the slightest bit crispy.
O_O Blasphemy!Tho, with SW's idea of "cheese," I can certainly understand. If they had access to some good muenster, on the other hand...

Having worked in and managed a Way of the Sub I can pretty much tell you that a lot of the employees work on autopilot, hence the one who was going to put the sandwich in the toaster even though they'd been told not to. And I know with the bacon we were always told that it needs to be heated for food quality purposes, not that it ever made much sense to me because it comes pre-cooked so all we had to do was keep it stored properly and it was all good.
The only bread that should be heated up is the flat-bread, and that is largely because it doesn't fold very well if it's at room temp, and it just tastes better heated up. I think it's fairly stale when it arrives at the store anyways so yeah.
When I had the dubious honour of running one of these places I used to tell my employees to go easy on the veggies unless the customer asked for more. And with the sauces, the training materials always said three stripes...which is often entirely too much, so I used to tell them to do one pass and only add more if the customer wanted more. Besides, after awhile those nozzles get blown all to hell and even with a single pass they can squirt out way too much sauce. If in doubt, ask for the sauce on the side so you can put it on later yourself.

For the bacon -- Having it heated up likely also means fewer complaints from customers about it being "not cooked" (from their point of view)."For a musician, the SNES sound engine is like using Crayola Crayons.
