*not in a workplace setting, but since it did involve dealing with a sucky salesman......*
Despite the fact that my apartment complex has several "No Solicitors" signs posted near apartment doors, we still occasionally get people knocking on doors and trying to make sales pitches. The other night I got one of those college students who've entered magazine-selling contests, I've had such people get realy pissy at me before for not wanting to buy anything, and "Kevin" was no exception. He was polite and friendly at first - making jokes/flirting....etc., but when I nicely told him that I couldn't afford magazines right now, he started getting pushy/had a rebuttal for everything I said, and snipped at me "I just don't see why you can't help me out." (Apparently I was the first person that day who didn't want to buy magazines from him, and he couldn't take the rejection)
Anyhow, this is NOT the first time I've had a college guy get bent out of shape because I didn't want to buy magazines from him, but it makes me wonder what sort of sales tactics these people are told to use when they sign up for the contests.
